I know it’s November, but in my neck of the woods we’ve still been seeing most days in the high 70s which means those tights, sweaters and scarves are going to have to wait. We’re still rocking sundresses and shorts and looking for ways to keep that summer glow.
The past few weeks we’ve been trying out the VITA LIBERATA Tanning Travel Essentials Kit, a collection of 4 non-toxic, organic, and odor-free products to help you achieve a beautiful bronze.

Super Fine Skin Polish – Exfoliating for any self-tanning is a must and so Vita Liberata includes this skin polish – a perfect way to prepare your skin by removing dead and dry skin cells. The product recommends applying onto dry skin and then rinsing it off in the shower. This felt like one more step than I wanted, so I just applied in the shower, but it definitely got my skin silky-smooth for the tanner application.
pHenomenal 2 – 3 Week Tan Lotion – Vita Liberata calls this “the World’s First 2-3 Week Tan” but keep in mind, those results only come with three applications of the product over 12 to 24 hours, showering only with water between applications. Overall, I liked this tanner – it had excellent color, zero smell and pretty easy application. It lasted a little longer than my normal self-tanner, but the three applications over 24 hours was a bit of a hassle for this mom of three.
Rapid Tan Mousse – This is a really unique product. First it was my first experience with a tanning mousse which I LOVED. I’m used to lotions, but this mousse was so light and luxurious and easy to apply. It’s tinted so it gives you an immediate glow, but it’s also adjustable. Yes, that’s right – one bottle can give you a light golden glow to a dark sun-kissed bronze depending on how long you leave it on before you shower. Leave it on for 1 hour for a light glow or up to three hours for a darker one. If you want a really dark tan, you might look elsewhere. Even when I left it on for three hours, I felt like I could still handle a bit more color. I didn’t love having to exfoliate and shower before, then apply the tanning mousse and then shower 1-3 hours again afterwards, but I do really like that with one bottle I can quickly achieve multiple options of coverage.
The Tanning Mitt in Travel Size - Finally, the kit comes with a tanning mitt to help you get a streak-free, flawless tan without risking the dreaded orange palm syndrome. It’s a mini size (this is a travel kit), but perfect for keeping your glow golden on your next vacay.
