I’m a big fan of the “no-makeup” makeup look—dewy skin, neutral hues, subtle bronzer, lots of mascara, and a high-shine, colorless gloss. That’s my go-to. But a few times a year, I feel the need to break out the bubblegum blush or try a hot-pink lip—just for kicks. And Valentine’s Day is usually one of those occasions. After all, it’s a whole 24 hours devoted to love—and I do love me some makeup!
Subtlety is the key to mastering a pretty-in-pink look—especially for those of us already stepping outside of our color comfort zone. Needless to say, you’ll want to offset a bright pop of pink with more natural tones. (So maybe skip the electric blue eyeliner just this once!)

Sure, that pink heart looks cute in the compact, but it’s functional too. It’ll give your bronzed skin a healthy punch of color.
