You know I love testing the latest beauty technologies–the latest one I’m testing is the Age-Defying Eye Wrinkle Correcting Laser. Plastic surgery scares the socks off of me. Blood, knives, looking like a “Real Housewife” –YIKES! I’m happy that the biggest trends in anti-aging beauty are in-home treatments and lasers.
First, who’s got the time to head to numerous appointments? I can barely keep up with my dentist and ob/gyn. When I have time to fight aging, it’s usually confined to what I have time to do before bed—cleanse, apply lotions and then get to sleep. And though I love my sunnies, you can’t wear them all the time to hide tired-looking eyes, and fine lines.
Tria has been helping women defy age for years. I still use my Tria Age-Defy Laser and have recommended it to many friends as a secret weapon. Now Tria’s got a new product the Age-Defying Eye Wrinkle Correcting Laser.
The breakthrough laser technology treatment targets eye wrinkles. Women (and men) used to have to go to a doctor’s office to get the benefits of lasers. Lasers have been providing proven results for decades. That’s why you see laser skin treatments popping up everywhere. Tria uses the same fractional, non-ablative lasers in their products. These lasers treat multiple signs of aging safely and let’s face it—they’re more effective than anti-aging creams and lotions (but I’m not giving those up either—they’re still an important part of my skincare routine.
It’s safe–The Age-Defying Eye Wrinkle Correcting Laser is FDA-cleared for home use. I’m adding it to my skincare routine to see how it treats the fine lines around my eyes. As I’ve heard it explained by dermatologists for years, you have to start early with prevention. Once wrinkles set in, it gets harder and harder to remove them. I’m hoping to look simultaneously natural and youthful.
Olive skin, fair skin, and African American skin—it’s all good. Tria assures me that the laser is safe for all skin tones and types. It’s all about stimulating collagen. The laser passes microscopic laser beams into the skin to stimulate the body’s own natural renewal process, rebuilding new collagen deep below the surface of the skin.
Getting started
Charge. You’ll need to fully charge the laser (it comes with a standard mini-port USB until the indicator light turns steady green. This takes about two hours.
Cleanse. Tria suggests using the Tria Priming Cleanser to remove makeup, sunscreen and other products that can block the laser light and make it less effective. But any cleanser will work. Just don’t try the laser over sunscreen and makeup
Treat. Set aside about a two minutes a day for the treatment. Place the Age-Defying Eye Wrinkle Correcting Laser flat against your skin and glide over the selected treatment area. Use small, circular motions. The indicator light will turn steady green to indicate that the device is on and ready to use. When the indicator light glows purple and the device vibrates you know you’re done and ready to move onto the next eye.
Nourish. The Nourishing Eye Renewal Cream is specially formulated with Hyaluronic Acid and Ginger Extract to help hydrate, reduce redness and sooth skin. While I don’t think the cleanser is a must, I love this eye cream. The cooling metal applicator helped me soothe the eye skin after each laser treatment. Finish with your nightly moisturizing routine.
TIP: During the day use an SPF of 30 or higher during the day to protect your laser-treated skin. But really ladies, we should be doing this every day anyhow!
For most women, you’ll see skin improvements in as few as two weeks. I’m excited to show you the “after” shots in a few weeks. 85% say they saw improvement in fine lines and wrinkles around their eyes. The best results are seen using the laser on each eye area for one minute every night for 8 weeks.
TIP: The laser works best when it’s clean. After each treatment, wipe the laser treatment tip with a dry cotton swab or microfiber cloth.
Downsides? There is definitely some tingling going on during the treatment. It’s not painful, but it is warm and a little prickly. There was also a little redness. This is why I’m treating at night. After I apply the Nourishing Eye Renewal Cream post-treatment the irritation and redness diminished.
